As a young man, Joseph had a sense of destiny about his life. He was given a fine coat and even had a dream about his future. Joseph’s first mountaintop experience was as a young man. Wouldn’t it be great to live on the mountain all the time in order to anticipate what is ahead? God allows us to experience the mountaintop at times. It is the best vantage point to see what lies ahead.
Whenever we stand on the mountain, we are able to see clearly. The storyline brims with admiration for the Navajos, and utter disdain for both the vulgar avarice of Tauros and the all-consuming consumerism of society at large.“The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord’.” 1 Kings 20:28 There are intertwining threads centered on Tauros, Ecas, the Navajos, and The Old Gods. Ecas turns up at Tauros' estate in order to write his biography but, once there, he finds peculiar things.
The Navajos split between those who want the money and those upset at the desecration of holy ground. He wants to mine the Valley of the Gods for uranium. The film visualizes what he writes.Įnter Wes Tauros (John Malkovich), the world's richest man, gone mute after a tragedy. Having done that, he decided to write The Great American Novel. As a cure, his therapist (John Rhys-Davies) suggested him doing crazy things. He is a copywriter whose life collapsed when his wife (Jaime Ray Newman) left him. John Ecas (Josh Hartnett) arrives at the Valley of the Gods, in SE Utah near Monument Valley, where the spirits of Navajo deities dwell within enormous stones. Valley of the Gods is a 2019 English-language Polish-Luxembourger drama film written and directed by Lech Majewski and starring Josh Hartnett and John Malkovich.
